Altruist publishes its developer documentation openly, but credentials need approval: a request form for the Open API (OAuth 2.0 authorization code, sandbox with mock data), a limited beta for the Realtime APIs (60 reads and 30 writes per minute), and SFTP flat files delivered daily.

What the docs don't say
- The Open API returns end of prior business day data; real-time access is the Realtime API, which is a limited beta.
- The Open API and Realtime API use different OAuth flows (authorization code versus password grant) and different hosts.
